Setup Error 64-bit and 32-bit
JSEAsy 32-bit-and-64-bit Setup Error
The default installation of Microsoft Office has always been a 32-bit installation, until the release of Office 2019 when Microsoft changed the default to a 64-bit installation.
Office applications (any of them) of different bit rates cannot coexist on the same machine, so, as an example, you cannot install office 365 64-bit alongside MS Access Runtime 32-bit
“This database created with the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access. Please open it with the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access”.
This indicates that you have a 64-bit version of Access installed on your PC. You will need to download a 64-bit JSEAsy program file (JSEAsy.accdr) and replace the default 32-bit file put on your PC with the installation.
How do I know if I’m running a 64-bit or 32-bit version of Office?
If you do not have Microsoft Access installed, you can use the Microsoft 365 Access Runtime to run Access.
If you have a 64-bit version of Office, but do not have Access included in your subscription, Download and install Office 365 Access Runtime and make sure you install the 64-Bit version
If you have a 32-bit version of Office, but do not have Access included in your subscription, Download and install Office 365 Access Runtime and make sure you install the 32-Bit version
Common Error Messages:
We can’t install the 32-bit version of Office because we found the following 64-bit programs on your PC:
Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component 64-bit Registration
Please uninstall all 64-bit Office programs, then retry installing 32-bit Office. If you want to install 64-bit Office instead, please run the 64-bit setup
It is most likely that you have a click to run version of Office 2016. The default Office application was a 32-bit application but then changed in 2020 when Microsoft released Office 2019. For some reason Microsoft Access Runtime will not install if you have a click to run version. (Although it works fine with other msi versions) It is also possible that you have a full version of Microsoft Access installed on your PC as a part of your Office suit. If this is the case, you may find that the program has in fact installed on your PC and is ready to use with the full version of Access. Try clicking the JSEAsy desktop shortcut and see if it runs
If not the work around this is to Download and install Office 365 Access Runtime and make sure you install the 32-Bit version
