Plant and Equipment Risk Assessment

A Plant and Equipment Risk Assessment is a systematic process used to identify, assess, and control risks associated with the use of machinery, equipment, appliances, and tools in the workplace. Its purpose is to ensure plant is used, handled, stored, maintained, and transported safely, and to prevent unauthorised modification, misuse, or interference.

The assessment must be undertaken with reference to applicable legislation, Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, and manufacturer instructions. It must also consider the competence, training, and experience of persons required to operate or work with the plant.
